This is a successful data recovery case study of Seagate ST1000DM003-1SB102 Pharaoh_Oasis Family 94 hard drive. The patient hard drive was suffering from several issues including:
- Reports of busy and not detected by the operating system (OS);
- LED lock and inability to enter F3 T>;
- Numerous PreampFaultStatus errors in the com terminal;
- SIM Error 1002 LBA 0000000000046469 FD FCFFF3FF and read/write errors.
The patient's hard drive had a LED lock and the engineer tried the shorting method but couldn't enter F3 T>. The com terminal messages indicated several issues including a spin-up error, read/write error, and an LED lock.
The engineer performed several steps to recover the lost data, including editing the head map in ROM, generating an unlock ROM, writing the unlock ROM, sending the unlock key, entering F3 T>, backing up NGlist, clearing the glist, and regenerating the translator. As a result, the user was able to retrieve their lost data.
